Bali so popular with Culture ,Temple , beach and many more , did you know bali also has beautiful wood carving? yes wooden carving is one livelihood specialy for some people live in Gianyar Regency locaten in Benawah , Petak  .

I will introduce you one of people live in Benawah name is Anak Agung Gde Putu Tagel  ( Gungtu ) He  was doing this almost 45 years  from age 15  until now and he will continue make gorgeuse art using  wooden. 

many item we made like balinese door , table , and box aswell with balinese relief

the relief here , we take from story of  ramayana and mayabarata .

every carving we make start from choosing wooden

the best wood in bali for carving is a teak wood because this wood have hard texture so when you carved , you design will be last a long time still good . 

second process is drawing .

drawing become significance part because from this step you need to know what story you gonna take , how the background look like,and what kind of animal inside that story .

all of this process take a month until 6 month to make .

in bali there is 3 step of carving 

first - make a design 

second - start to cut the wood to take out useless part.

third - start to make a shape of human , tree, animal and stone 

fourth - finishing ,like make detail of face , fingers, animal , and detil of tree and grass

for the last, here we will show you an carving with story of ramayana 

which is rama and laksmana looking for sita inside the jungle .
